ICOM IC-7000 Under Test

Andy MOHLT has asked the Club to take a look at his IC-7000 HF transceiver and matching LDG Tuner. Unfortunately Andy is selling up his HF gear and we were grateful he chose Chippenham Club to fire it up on air this evening – Tuesday 22nd April.

There has been a steady flow of members wanting to try out this quality HF Radio and put it through its paces on 20m. Many contacts were made and the overall impression is really positive. Hopefully we’ll find it a new owner very soon and a big thank you to Andy entrusting it to us !

Smile Brian, you’re on Candid Camera !!

2025 AGM A Great Success

A big thank you to all the members and friends who joined us on the 15th of April for our AGM.

Brian G6HUI as our Chairman provided his annual speech and thanked the Committee and members for their support throughout the last 12 months.

He advised that the existing Committee were happy to continue for a further 12 months with one notable exception. Jenny M0HZT was thanked for her support over many years but had stepped down due to health reasons – Thank you Jenni !!

The Secretary role had now become vacant and Jon G0IUE volunteered to undertake this role from July onwards. This was agreed unopposed with Vicki M3HUI covering the role in the interim period.

Brian underpinned the value we have for our membership and the diversity of the Club. This is one of our strengths. He also reminded everyone of the importance of our annual Rallies but after the hall fees had not been raised as much as we had expected a decision was made to focus on a single Summer Rally at the expense of the Winter event. So it’s full steam ahead for the Wiltshire Radio Rally on Sunday 27th July !

Here’s to another 12 months !

Here we see Brian doing the warm up act with our RSGB Region 10 Rep, Simon G4WQG looking on !
